Behind the Image

Entering the Temple

While visitng Kyoto, Japan, an ancient city filled with surprises around every corner. I remember it all so vividly. The feeling of the gravel under my feet, the sound of pebbles moving as I made my way through these doors and onto the temple grounds. How much sky there was once walking through these doors and how surprised I felt at how many plants and trees were on the other side.

I entered the temple quietly and respectfully and am taken back to this very place with every viewing of this photograph.
