Behind the Image

While walking through a very suburban part of Japan I came across this scene. To some, they may pass by and think nothing of it. But, to me, I felt like this place was special. It felt familiar somehow. It felt like home, although I didn’t grow up here. In fact, I grew up on the other side of the world.

To someone out there though, this is home. And these plants matter to them, their bike is a means of transportation, and beyond these walls is a place filled with memories. That’s what I see and feel when viewing this photograph, I’m reminded of my own home, even if that place is thousands of miles away, I carry it with me always.

Our In Homes gallery takes you inside homes and offices, giving you a feel of what each print will feel like inside your own home or office.
